Role Overview
Seeking a practical and career-focused individual eager to start a long-term role in the construction materials sector with Adbri, one of Australia's leading manufacturers. Concrete, being the second-most used material globally after water, is at the core of building key infrastructure such as homes, schools, and hospitals. This position offers comprehensive hands-on training, nationally accredited licenses, and development of skills to safely and efficiently operate concrete batching plants.
Location
This full-time, permanent vacancy will be based in Gawler, South Australia.
Learning Opportunities
- Understanding concrete mix designs and production processes.
- Operating batching plant machinery and mobile equipment.
- Executing quality control and product testing protocols.
- Troubleshooting production issues and optimizing plant performance.
- Ensuring safety and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with drivers, allocators, customers, and operations teams to coordinate deliveries and meet customer demands.
- Developing communication, teamwork, and planning capabilities.
Licenses and Training Provided
- Forklift License.
- Front End Wheel Loader License.
- Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia (CCAA) Concrete Basics Course.
- Extensive on-the-job instruction and mentorship.
Main Duties
- Operate batching plant equipment to produce concrete that meets specifications.
- Manage truck movements ensuring operations are safe and efficient.
- Carry out regular inspections, maintenance, and housekeeping duties.
- Monitor inventory and assist in production planning.
- Work cooperatively with drivers, customers, and team members to fulfill delivery schedules.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
- No prior industry experience is required; the key is a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for practical, machinery-related work.
- Ability to organize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Basic proficiency with computers and technology.
- Commitment to safety and ongoing improvement.
