Tertiary Student Intern - 2027 School Year (Part-time, Term-time)

Role Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity for final year tertiary students in 2027 to obtain paid work experience by dedicating one day per week during term time. The role is designed to be completed alongside your final year of study and offers insight into teaching within a Christian school environment, specifically at St Andrew’s Cathedral School (SACS).

Key Responsibilities and Support

• Engage in practical teaching experience under the guidance of an assigned Mentor Teacher.
• Participate in program supervision and receive support from the School Coordinator.
• Attend weekly collegial intern meetings featuring devotionals, professional teaching discussions, and reflective practices on personal teaching development.
• Access paid opportunities to participate in relevant Professional Learning activities.

Candidate Profile

• Be enrolled as a final-year tertiary student in 2027, pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Education/Teaching degree.
• Display a genuine enthusiasm to learn about teaching in a Christian school setting.
• Show developing knowledge of contemporary pedagogy theory and practice.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-working mindset.
