Job description

Role Overview

The Television Licence Field Officer position offers a dynamic opportunity to actively support local communities within the Tunbridge Wells TN1 postcode by visiting homes and educating customers about TV licence obligations. This role blends independence, customer engagement, and fieldwork with comprehensive training and excellent benefits.

Key Duties

  • Conduct home visits across residential locations in the TN1 area to engage with customers.
  • Communicate licensing requirements professionally and respectfully while offering tailored solutions.
  • Establish appropriate payment plans where applicable and accurately document visit results using mobile technology.
  • Operate autonomously in managing daily schedule and making decisions in the field.
  • Attend court proceedings as necessary during enforcement activities.
  • Commute and operate using either a company vehicle or personal transportation, starting and ending each working day from home.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a full UK driving licence and residence within the TN1 postcode area.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining professionalism and resilience in diverse customer interactions.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, problem-solving acumen, and meticulous attention to detail in information recording.
  • Show capability to work independently, managing workload effectively.
  • Have fundamental IT skills and confidence in using mobile devices and software.
  • Display a positive outlook, eagerness to learn, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as part of a 36.5-hour workweek with a flexible schedule.

Work Schedule

Flexible working patterns require 12 of the 36.5 weekly hours to be scheduled between 4 pm and 9 pm on weekdays or at any time during weekends, allowing ample scope to tailor the remaining hours around personal commitments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of £31,650.
  • Option between a company car (usable for work and personal purposes) or a £3,700 annual car allowance.
