Job Overview

The role involves conducting detailed inspections of vehicles on a designated track and accurately recording the final inspection results. It is essential to verify that all inspected vehicles meet the standards set by the Police Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept vehicles and corresponding Inspection Receipts from customers, ensuring the information matches vehicle registration details.
• Position vehicles properly on inspection tracks and input vehicle plate numbers into the system, confirming accuracy against registration cards.
• Perform a sequence of technical inspections including exhaust emission tests to confirm compliance with specifications.
• Conduct shock absorber assessments and evaluate the wear and functionality of shock absorbers and brake systems, checking front and rear balance.
• Examine the vehicle's external condition including chassis number verification, exhaust visual inspection, body condition, paint, windshield, tyres, powertrain, suspension, and chassis operation; consult supervisors on major damages or concerns.
• Record comprehensive vehicle inspection reports in the system outlining any defects; forward final inspection results for certificate issuance and clarify issues to customers when necessary.
• Carry out additional inspections for public transport vehicles, ensuring cleanliness of taxis, proper functioning of meters, and the presence and condition of fire extinguishers.
• Set up and operate all necessary inspection equipment and computers at the start and end of daily work shifts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vehicle Inspection Supervisor.

Interaction and Communication

• Maintain regular communication with the Vehicle Inspection Supervisor for instructions and technical guidance.
• Coordinate with fellow Vehicle Inspection Technicians for operational alignment and issue resolution.
• Engage with customers while receiving inspections and guiding vehicles to inspection areas.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Vehicle Mechanics or a related qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and inspection within a reputable organization.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong command of English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
