Role Overview

As a Technical Communicator at Vista, you will be responsible for producing a broad range of technical materials including traditional written documentation and compelling video tutorials to improve user experience and encourage product adoption. Collaboration with product managers, engineers, and experts is essential to gather, analyze, and simplify complex technical concepts into clear, concise content.

Key Duties

Create, author, and edit diverse technical documents such as user manuals, API documentation, release updates, online help, and training resources along with video demonstrations and tutorials.
Work alongside product teams to develop and execute content strategies aligned with product roadmaps and user requirements, integrating visual content where relevant.
Employ analytics tools to monitor user engagement, assess the effectiveness of documents and videos, and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
Perform user research and usability tests to ensure clarity and user-centric documentation and video content.
Effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate activities with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience and Skills

At least three years of experience in technical writing or a closely related discipline.
Excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
Proficiency using technical writing applications such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with content management systems.
Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience working with video recording and editing tools, including Loom, Camtasia, and Adobe products.
Ability to rapidly absorb new technical information with an attentive approach to detail and accuracy.
A strong commitment to producing high-quality technical content.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience adhering to technical writing standards like DITA and DocBook.
Usage of analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
Participating in user research and evaluating usability testing methodologies.
Expertise in single-sourcing and content reuse techniques.
