Role Purpose
This position offers temporary assistance to the Sustainability team during a maternity leave, ensuring the ongoing management of sustainability reports, engagement with customers, data verification, and the progression of sustainability programs. The role requires collaborating with various internal departments and external entities to guarantee the precision, quality, and punctual submission of sustainability disclosures, training efforts, and research activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and update the repository of standard responses related to customer sustainability questionnaires, keeping data accurate and aligned with company disclosures.
- Maintain thorough documentation and records to facilitate effective knowledge sharing within the Sustainability team.
- Assist in sustainability reporting by compiling, verifying, and maintaining performance data.
- Clean and organise datasets, including historical files used for annual sustainability reporting and disclosures.
- Prepare evidence and supporting documents according to verification standards.
- Help ensure consistent and reliable data across all sustainability reports and submissions.
- Coordinate with internal data owners across departments and locations to gather required documentation for data verification and assurance processes.
- Monitor and follow up with stakeholders to ensure prompt submission of necessary documents for verification.
- Provide administrative and project coordination support for sustainability initiatives.
- Assist in the enhancement and management of the sustainability online training module, including reviewing content, making updates, and working with external training providers.
- Offer suggestions for improving training materials, such as learning content, visual aids, and communication strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to support project milestones.
- Conduct research on carbon offset solutions, identifying credible carbon credits that comply with market standards and organisational criteria.
- Monitor new sustainability frameworks, regulations, and industry trends relevant to the maritime sector.
- Support benchmarking and gap analysis against sustainability reporting frameworks, including biodiversity and nature-related disclosures.
- Assist in evaluating the organisation’s preparedness for upcoming sustainability regulations via research, analysis, and stakeholder interaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Sustainability team’s goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Geography, or related areas.
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, consulting, or reporting is preferred; relevant internships or project work also considered.
- Strong analytical capabilities for collecting, validating, analysing, and presenting data related to sustainability performance.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, ESG projects, and reporting standards.
- Skills in managing documentation for internal audits, external verification, and assurance activities.
- Ability to interpret frameworks and carry out gap assessments or benchmarking analyses.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and regions.
- Professional approach to stakeholder engagement and timely follow-up.
- Competent at coordinating complex activities with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.
- Genuine interest in sustainability and emerging ESG areas.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and changing work environment.
