About the Role
We are looking for a Business Line Supply Planner to efficiently manage inventory planning across designated product lines. This role involves executing inventory strategies considering demand forecasts, existing orders, lead times, and available stock levels to balance service quality, working capital, and overall costs. The position requires hands-on involvement with SKU-specific execution and driving inventory and forecasting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an optimized supply plan ensuring customer demand fulfillment while maintaining ideal inventory levels.
- Maintain a continuous and efficient supply of finished products by effective supply and inventory planning.
- Engage in monthly SIOP supply planning and balancing sessions to align supply with demand and drive mitigation measures.
- Support weekly Sales & Operations Execution activities addressing demand or supply fluctuations within the SIOP planning cycle.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to uphold customer service commitments.
- Carry out inventory planning supporting annual operating plans and target inventory days of supply.
- Apply finished goods supply planning policies (based on item classifications such as ABCD/XYZ) to manage demand variation and constraints.
- Use exception reports to proactively address supply plan risks, including expediting or de-escalating supplier priorities and escalating issues when necessary.
- Focus planning efforts on priority items, managing exceptions and escalating critical supply challenges.
- Manage order fulfillment through MRP systems, coordinate closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, and resolve supply disruptions.
- Implement inventory strategies including optimal reorder points, lot sizes, and lead times tailored to the supply base.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses supporting supply chain projects and product line communication.
- Investigate root causes of inventory or order fulfillment issues and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or Finance.
- Two to five years of experience in supply planning, master scheduling, forecasting, or capacity planning.
- Operations background with knowledge of capacity, master, and production planning is advantageous.
- Preferred certification: ASCM CPIM.
- Experience within consumer goods, electronics, or aftermarket industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP/APO, SAP/SNP, or similar ERP statistical software.
- Understanding of ABC/XYZ inventory classification, new product introduction and end-of-life cycle management, and capacity analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify issues within large data sets, develop solutions, and ensure accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, visualization skills, and conceptual thinking.
- Strong communication skills fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively with appropriate urgency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Information
Material availability, on-time in full (OTIF) performance, inventory valuation, days of supply, and vendor shipping performance for assigned product lines will be primary key performance indicators. Coordination with production plants, purchasing, distribution, transportation, and finance departments is essential to ensure capacity, procurement, and logistics plans align with business requirements.
