Overview
The role of Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist encompasses leadership responsibilities over mail management and printing-related operations. This includes managing services connected to mail, fleet, transportation, global delivery, property use, and disposal efforts. The position also offers strategic solutions for warehousing, relocation, distribution, and overall logistics functions while overseeing budgets related to mail and warehousing services.
Key Duties
- Provide supervisory oversight of mail management and printing programs.
- Coordinate operations involving mail management, fleet and transportation management, global delivery services, and property utilization and disposal.
- Develop and implement solutions related to warehousing, moving, and distribution services.
- Oversee the mail services program within the Justice Management Division.
- Manage budgeting and operating plans for mail and warehousing services.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Must be a United States Citizen or National.
- Successful completion of a security/background check and drug screening is mandatory.
- Applicants must be permanent Department of Justice employees with competitive status or be CTAP/RPL eligible.
- Must comply with all applicable time-in-grade criteria by the announcement closing date.
- Financial disclosure may be required in line with DOJ ethics standards upon selection.
- Males born on or after December 31, 1959, must have registered for Selective Service or hold an approved exemption.
- Supervisory probationary period of one year applies for first-time supervisors/managers.
Qualifications
The GS-14 level requires a minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, involving mail distribution services management, including mail receipt, internal handling, and dispatch, as well as developing policies related to mail, fleet, or delivery service management. Education cannot be substituted for experience for qualification purposes.
