Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to sales planning, supply and demand operations, strategic initiatives, and reporting for Shinkei. The analyst will combine analytical rigor with operational insight to propel business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update comprehensive sales forecasts segmented by customer, species, and channel to facilitate weekly and monthly planning.
  • Construct frameworks to prioritize customers, identify prospects, and strategize for account growth.
  • Manage weekly sales reporting using Tableau to monitor performance metrics including revenue, volume, and margin.
  • Establish a detailed cost-to-serve model incorporating factors such as order frequency, delivery complexity, payment terms, returns, and sales time per account.
  • Forecast arrivals and conduct variance analysis; collaborate extensively with procurement to synchronize supply with demand.
  • Formulate and maintain unit cost forecasting models across various species and specifications, benchmarking against market commodity prices.
  • Create weekly Tableau reports contrasting actual arrivals versus plans across vessels, species, and volume.
  • Analyze vessel and fleet economics to compute cost per pound accounting for robot uptime, catch volume, species mix, and port logistics.
  • Monitor waste and shrinkage throughout the supply chain, identify points of product loss in processing, transport damage, limited shelf life, and credit claims.
  • Support decision-making for insourcing versus outsourcing and capital expenditure related to processing, distribution, and fleet assets.
  • Develop ROI models for R&D initiatives including revenue forecasts, operational expense estimation, risk assessments, and timeline monitoring.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to sales and procurement ERP systems and workflows.
  • Design and sustain dashboards measuring on-time delivery, logistics performance, and procurement key performance indicators.
  • Create dynamic, self-service reporting tools to empower sales and operations teams with timely decision-making capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in strategy, analytics, or operations, ideally within management consulting firms or high-growth startup environments.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Tableau or equivalent business intelligence platforms preferred.
  • Proficient in developing financial models, forecasts, and comprehensive business cases independently.
  • Knowledge of SQL is an advantage.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of making informed decisions with incomplete information.
