Job description
Role Overview
As a Stockperson / Cartpusher at Walmart Canada in Saskatoon, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and orderly shopping environment. Your main duties include collecting shopping carts from various areas such as cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters and returning them to their designated storage using approved procedures. This position emphasizes customer interaction and safety to contribute to smooth store functions and development of retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve shopping carts from designated locations and return them safely to storage following Walmart's approved protocols.
- Accurately complete required logs related to cart handling and operations.
- Respond quickly to requests from registers and Customer Service, including helping customers with carrying items and verifying purchase receipts when necessary.
- Carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, following safety guidelines for handling chemicals, proper disposal, and safe operation of equipment.
- Perform pre-use inspections of equipment to ensure safety compliance.
- Observe all safety and emergency procedures, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen protocols to protect both customers and staff.
- Wear necessary personal protective equipment like steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps, and comply with company policies to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Be flexible to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
Challenges
- Manage a high workload efficiently in a fast-paced and often overnight environment while maintaining energy and focus.
- Complete large volumes of restocking and store recovery accurately and within deadlines.
- Handle physical demands such as extended standing, bending, and lifting inventory or supplies weighing from 20 up to occasionally 50 lbs.
- Perform repetitive tasks like stocking, zoning, and organizing products consistently and with attention to detail.

Compensation
The starting pay rate for this role is $15.50 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old.
