Senior Vice President, Finance Transformation

Overview

ICON plc is looking for a Senior Vice President, Finance Transformation to lead a newly established finance transformation function in Dublin, Ireland. This is a high-impact senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and partnering closely with executive colleagues across the business.

The company is in the middle of a multi-year enterprise change programme aimed at improving operational performance, strengthening finance capabilities, increasing confidence in data, and delivering long-term value. ICON is a globally scaled, Irish-headquartered clinical research organisation with about 40,000 employees across 55 countries and annual revenue of approximately $8.25 billion in 2025.

What this role will do

• Own and steer major finance transformation work across the organisation.
• Create and roll out a long-range strategy for finance change.
• Advance ERP optimisation, automation, digital adoption and AI-enabled ways of working.
• Reduce complexity by simplifying and standardising global finance processes.
• Prepare strong business cases for change and gain support from senior executives and the board.
• Improve data quality, governance, controls, and management reporting.
• Design operating models that can scale as the company grows.
• Set up and lead a high-performing finance transformation team.
• Collaborate with finance and business leaders worldwide to deliver durable value.

Candidate profile

The organisation is seeking a senior finance leader with a clear strategic mindset and strong delivery capability. The right person will likely have deep experience leading large transformation programmes in complex multinational environments, along with hands-on exposure to ERP, operating model redesign, and process improvement.

The role also calls for a leader with a strong executive profile who can influence at board, executive committee, and investor level. The ideal candidate will be comfortable driving change across multiple stakeholders, and will be motivated by using technology, automation, and AI to improve finance effectiveness. They should also be able to build and inspire teams that create lasting organisational change.
