Role overview

The Ultima World (DIFC) is looking for an experienced Research Analyst to join its investment research team in the United Arab Emirates. The position blends classic financial analysis with modern technology to deliver insightful research and help shape investment decisions.

Core research work

Carry out fundamental research and value equities across several sectors using DCF, comparable company analysis, and related valuation methods.
Study macroeconomic developments and policy changes, then assess how they influence financial markets.
Prepare in-depth research reports, investment views, and market updates.
Develop and maintain robust financial models, including scenario testing and sensitivity analysis.
Follow earnings forecasts, review business fundamentals, and evaluate investment risks.

Technology and data analysis

Use Python to analyze data, automate models, and streamline research workflows.
Apply AI tools and machine learning methods to improve research coverage and uncover market patterns.
Build automated data-gathering routines and analytical dashboards.
Design visualizations and interactive tools that support investment decisions.

External research and collaboration

Handle relationships with external research firms, data vendors, and industry specialists.
Review third-party research and incorporate useful insights into internal analysis.
Work with sell-side analysts, sector consultants, and alternative data providers.
Present analysis to portfolio managers, investment committees, and clients.

Research production and controls

Write high-quality research output such as sector studies, company deep-dives, and thematic reports.
Ensure all published material complies with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards.
Contribute to quarterly market outlooks and annual investment strategy documents.
Maintain research databases and keep data accurate across all systems.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in equity research, investment analysis, or a closely related role at a respected financial institution.
Strong understanding of macroeconomics and the ability to connect broad economic themes with investment ideas.
Hands-on experience with equity valuation methods and financial modeling.
Strong writing ability and a proven record of producing clear, high-quality research materials.
Good working knowledge of Python for analysis and automation.
Experience using AI tools in research or analytical work.
Experience managing external research relationships and integrating outside research into analysis.
Fluency in English and Russian for research work and stakeholder communication.

Preferred qualifications

CFA charterholder status or meaningful progress toward the certification.
An advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
Experience using financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or FactSet.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and statistical analysis tools.
