About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Manager to join a fast-expanding, innovative medical device company. This pivotal leadership role involves shaping and guiding high-performing engineering teams while spearheading strategic process development projects that enhance the production of transformative medical technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Process Development team, nurturing a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous advancement.
- Establish and execute the strategic vision for Process Development aligned with overall business goals.
- Oversee complex process development initiatives from initial concept through to implementation and transfer to manufacturing.
- Identify and apply improvements to process capabilities, manufacturing efficiencies, scalability, and product output quality.
- Direct technical troubleshooting, root cause analyses, and optimization efforts using data-driven approaches.
- Manage multiple cross-functional projects ensuring timely completion, quality standards, and business objectives are met.
- Prepare detailed project plans, including budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Foster strong partnerships with cross-department stakeholders to facilitate technical and operational enhancements.
- Promote continuous improvement methodologies and best practices in engineering.
- Ensure adherence to quality systems, regulatory standards, and health & safety protocols.
- Support activities related to process validation, manufacturing readiness, and design transfer.
- Oversee departmental budgeting and assist with strategic resource planning.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field (such as Manufacturing, Biomedical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering).
- Between 8 and 10+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment.
- At least 3 to 5+ years managing engineering, manufacturing, or process development teams.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering successful complex projects aimed at process and yield improvements and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing engineering professionals.
- Experience driving organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent project management capabilities with an aptitude for juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
