Job description

About the Role

The Middle East & Africa (MEA) Division at Enterprise Singapore supports Singapore-based companies as they seek to expand their presence in the Middle East and Africa. The division identifies and creates international business opportunities, aids market entry and growth, facilitates exports and foreign investments, and fosters joint ventures and other business alliances. Additionally, the MEA Division encourages foreign traders to operate out of Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives for expanding Singapore companies into African markets, including close tracking of regional political and economic trends.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of Singapore companies' business activities and establish an understanding of the African business landscape.
  • Spot market entry opportunities and potential challenges such as regulatory hurdles and unique in-country business practices.
  • Design and implement market access strategies and partnership-building projects to strengthen cross-border ties.
  • Collaborate with various government entities to enhance bilateral trade and economic collaborations between Singapore and African nations.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 years of background in government policy, international affairs, or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex situations and projects.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to assess policy and business environments effectively.
  • Adept at teamwork and comfortable collaborating with diverse professional groups.
  • Resourcefulness and an entrepreneurial approach to bridging concepts with execution.
  • Tertiary qualification; candidates with significant relevant experience may be considered even if educational qualifications are not met.
  • French language skills are a plus.
