About the Role

A client partner is seeking a Senior Compliance Advisor based in the United States to provide expert guidance on compliance initiatives focused on FedRAMP frameworks and cloud security within federal technology environments. This remote role requires collaboration with technical architects, compliance teams, and federal stakeholders to navigate complex regulatory challenges and help organizations meet their compliance goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead compliance engagements independently, including walkthroughs, assessments, and advisory projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Develop and maintain essential compliance documentation, such as policies, procedures, and security control materials.
Evaluate third-party assessment reports for accuracy and compliance alignment.
Work closely with federal customers to interpret requirements and assist in effective control implementation.
Facilitate coordination among technical architects, security teams, and compliance professionals to align goals.
Offer subject matter expertise on cloud security controls, FedRAMP requirements, and best compliance practices.
Perform gap analyses to identify security risks and recommend/remediate strategies to maintain compliance.
Mentor team members by sharing expertise and enhancing compliance processes.
Stay abreast of changes in regulatory and industry standards to keep strategies updated.
Maintain a proactive, hands-on approach to solving complex security and regulatory problems, ensuring high-quality results.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity compliance, or advisory roles, with substantial exposure to FedRAMP environments.
Deep understanding of cloud security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Proven project management skills managing strict timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
Expertise in conducting detailed compliance assessments, identifying gaps, and formulating remediation plans.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities to engage both federal customers and technical teams.
Experience leading technical discussions and aligning security requirements with business objectives.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills to support team growth and development.
A proactive and solution-driven mindset with strong accountability.
Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or cloud security-related credentials.
Authorization to work in the United States and availability to work during East Coast business hours.
