Job description

Overview

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, is hiring Security Officers to join a project constructing a new substation near Chesterfield. The roles involve both day and night shifts of twelve hours each, totaling between 48 and 60 hours weekly, intended for long-term employment.

Key Duties

  • Protect buildings and construction areas from unauthorized entry and ensure public safety within site boundaries.
  • Day shift duties include managing the gatehouse and registering visitors.
  • Night shift responsibilities involve patrolling various remote parts of the site by vehicle and responding promptly to CCTV alerts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) license for security guarding, door supervision, or close protection.
  • Holding a UK driving license is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a large security team and with other personnel on site.
  • Strong orientation toward customer service and professionalism.
  • Exhibit sound judgment and maintain integrity at all times.
