Role Overview

The position of Scout/Driver Acquisition Officer is a full-time, on-location role based in Addis Ababa. The primary responsibility is to identify, engage, and onboard new drivers and fleets to support Melke's mobility and delivery operations. Key daily tasks include scouting potential drivers in targeted locations, hosting informational briefings, assisting candidates with their registration and documentation submission, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. Maintaining precise driver records, following up on prospects, and coordinating with internal teams to achieve recruitment goals and uphold service standards are integral to this role. Additionally, the officer will offer introductory orientation to new recruits, communicate company policies clearly, and collect feedback aimed at enhancing driver satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in field scouting, recruitment, or specifically driver acquisition, with proven ability to identify and engage potential candidates effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of clearly explaining procedures and supporting onboarding processes.
  • Basic proficiency with data entry and document handling, ensuring accuracy and completeness of driver records.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple leads, follow-ups, and day-to-day field operations efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Addis Ababa's geography and local transportation environment; experience in mobility, logistics, or fleet management is a plus.
  • Comfortable working on-site and in the field, committed to meeting acquisition targets while collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Minimum educational qualification: high school diploma; additional qualifications in business, sales, or related disciplines are advantageous.
  • Fluency in local languages and working knowledge of English; basic computer skills and familiarity with smartphone applications.
