Role Overview
The School Officer for Grounds and Facilities plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, well-kept, and welcoming school environment. This hands-on position involves a broad mix of tasks related to grounds upkeep, facilities management, and school operational support, all contributing directly to the daily experience of the school community. The role operates with guidance and regular supervision for non-routine duties but allows independence in routine tasks. The position excludes tasks requiring qualified tradesperson skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily activities including mail and parcel delivery and collection, message recording and distribution, printing and photocopying support, preparation of classrooms for exams and assembly halls, and furniture arrangement or relocation.
- Perform general store responsibilities such as receipts processing, opening and checking supplies, storing and distributing school stocks, maintaining registers, and stocktaking with recording or engraving of school equipment, furniture, and assets.
- Support security functions by monitoring and maintaining school security systems, handling banking deposits (transport and deposit only), and locking/unlocking school buildings during core hours.
