Job description

About the Role

This critical position is situated within the 5th Quarter team, playing a central role in ensuring smooth product movement from processing stages right through to customer delivery. You will be tasked with harmonizing inventory, logistics, contracts, and commercial objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Success in this role demands someone who relishes handling complexity, excels at troubleshooting, and skillfully manages multiple concurrent priorities.

The position extends beyond conventional sales or supply chain functions. It involves maintaining coordination of various operational elements, proactively resolving issues, refining processes, and facilitating the effective execution of intricate product flows. Serving as a crucial support figure for Business Managers, you will contribute to fostering client relationships, bolstering commercial results, and upholding operational excellence across the 5th Quarter value chain. The role is primarily based in Dunedin, with Hastings as an alternative location.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the full process from order placement to payment, coordinating sales orders, inventory levels, logistics, and client needs to guarantee seamless supply chain operations.
  • Investigate supply chain discrepancies, resolve issues, and seek out opportunities to enhance processes and overall performance.
  • Maintain open communication channels with customers, toll processors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure fulfillment of delivery schedules and contractual commitments.
  • Ensure precision in inventory and system records through timely inventory transactions, reporting, data reconciliation, and management, utilizing platforms such as Trade, D365, PRODOC, and Power BI.
  • Provide analytical insights by forecasting inventory and supply chain requirements to support improved decision-making, enhance customer service, increase profitability, and boost operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are highly organized and proactive professionals who thrive in fast-paced, intricate environments and are confident in communication to resolve matters expediently. The role demands multitasking capability and an aptitude for establishing strong connections across organisational tiers.

Applicants should bring prior experience in supply chain coordination, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, sales support, warehousing, or contract management combined with a strong service-oriented outlook.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Competency in intermediate to advanced Excel functions and comfort working with data.
  • Practical experience with ERP and business systems, preferably including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Trade, PRODOC, or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving and continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting areas such as inventory management, logistics, sales contracts, purchasing, or broader supply chain operations.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to assist colleagues, and a solution-driven approach.
  • Experience related to by-products, food manufacturing, export, or processing industries is favorable but not mandatory.
