Safety Officer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management at our construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and enforcing robust safety protocols, ensuring strict compliance with local laws and company standards, and fostering a culture of safety among all personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and review site-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures to align with regulatory and client requirements.
• Conduct frequent safety inspections and audits to detect hazards and unsafe conditions on-site.
• Supervise construction-related activities to ensure adherence to safe work practices and PPE usage.
• Perform comprehensive risk assessments, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate method statements and approve permits related to high-risk tasks like working at heights, excavation, lifting, confined space entry, electrical works, and hot works.
• Maintain permit-to-work (PTW) compliance, records, and statutory documentation.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and track corrective action implementation.
• Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, drills, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Develop emergency response plans and carry out mock drills for various scenarios including fire, evacuation, medical emergencies, and rescue operations.
• Prepare regular HSE reports and present safety metrics to project management and stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Graduation degree in any discipline.
• Experienced between 1 to 5 years as a Construction Safety Officer.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and construction site safety standards.
• Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations effectively.
• Proven skills in planning and delivering safety training and awareness programs.

Compensation

The offered salary for this role ranges from ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per month.
