Resident Engineer

Role Overview

A leading architectural and engineering consultancy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer to take charge of the smooth execution of major, high-profile developments. The role focuses on making sure the design is translated correctly on site, contractual obligations are fulfilled, and delivery standards remain strong across quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct on-site supervision, contract administration, and construction management work.
• Work closely with the Design Manager, project management professionals, client-side representatives, and contractors to keep delivery aligned.
• Run site progress meetings and track overall project performance.
• Examine and sign off on technical submissions, material approvals, shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, procedures, as-built records, and inspection requests.
• Keep contractor progress under review to confirm adherence to specifications, quality benchmarks, cost limits, and timelines.
• Administer contracts in line with FIDIC terms and conditions.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from an accredited or recognized institution.
• A minimum of 20 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 15 years on comparable projects.
• At least 10 years of work experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Membership certification with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Proven background in the delivery of high-rise buildings and hotel developments.
• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction/site management practices.
• Valid transferable Iqama is mandatory.
• Prior work with a major consultancy firm in the Gulf is a strong plus.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; Arabic will be an added advantage.
