About The Merrion Hotel
The Merrion Hotel is a prestigious luxury hotel located in the heart of Dublin city center, opposite Government Buildings. Housed in four historic Georgian townhouses, it offers 142 rooms and suites centered around two beautifully maintained 18th-century-style gardens. The hotel is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and is renowned for upholding exceptional service standards.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated full-time Reservations Assistant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly respected hotel environment with supportive colleagues and thorough training to ensure success and satisfaction in your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming reservation-related calls and emails, addressing confirmations, special requests, and guest inquiries effectively.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date knowledge of all room rates, available packages, and special promotions offered by The Merrion.
- Accurately input all reservation details into the Property Management System (PMS).
- Communicate necessary information efficiently to other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Review daily arrival lists and ensure special guest requests are properly followed up.
- Develop strong relationships with guests to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings and practice upselling when appropriate.
- Showcase excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail in all duties.
- Collaborate effectively with team members while delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
Working Hours
- Workweek comprises 39 hours onsite, typically Monday to Friday.
- Some Saturdays will require attendance as part of the schedule.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in reservations within a comparable hotel setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Opera Cloud reservation system is essential.
- Strong command of both written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a genuine passion for providing superior guest service.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to contribute constructively to the hotel culture.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying guest needs and business demands, recognizing that each day differs.
