Role Overview

The Research Chemist will collaborate closely with Research Scientists to assess and develop new and existing chemistries, processes, or applications related to Indorama's product portfolio. This hands-on laboratory role involves executing directed experiments safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay updated with latest scientific literature and advancements relevant to functional chemical products.
• Contribute to the completion of projects within the US project pipeline.
• Prepare and conduct laboratory experiments that meet internal and customer requirements.
• Conduct analyses using various analytical techniques and application testing methods.
• Maintain detailed and organized laboratory notebooks and documentation to support patent applications.
• Ensure laboratory spaces are clean, safe, and orderly.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and training requirements.
• Assist the R&D Lab Manager in managing laboratory resources effectively.
• Manage and optimize assigned processes considering quality, legal, and food safety standards where applicable.
• Keep all relevant documentation current and accessible.
• Collaborate with R&D teams and clients to improve lab operations and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering with 0–2 years of related experience (experience in R&D labs preferred), or
• Associate degree with 5+ years relevant experience in a lab environment (R&D experience preferred).

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong familiarity with surfactants in laboratory or application contexts is highly preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including databases, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Excellent organizational abilities and effective communication skills.
• Presentation skills are advantageous.
• Experience in formulation within the Home Care sector is preferred.
