Role Overview

This is a full-time, onsite Reporter position based in Kottayam, Kerala. The Reporter’s main duties include researching and collecting news, conducting interviews, verifying facts from diverse sources, and crafting precise and engaging news stories. Responsibilities span writing and editing articles, generating story concepts, covering community events, and collaborating with editors and multimedia personnel to produce text, photographic, and video content. The role requires keeping up with current affairs while adhering to ethical journalism standards, maintaining clarity and objectivity, and consistently meeting publication deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient reporting and news writing capabilities, with talent in identifying significant news and communicating it clearly.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills, including interviewing and simplifying complex topics.
• Basic multimedia abilities to handle photo, video, or audio content for digital and social media purposes.
• Keen attention to detail coupled with thorough fact-checking and commitment to ethical, accurate journalism.
• Previous experience in journalism, media, or communication fields and awareness of local issues in Kottayam is advantageous.
• Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or relevant discipline.
• Capable of working onsite, handling multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic newsroom setting.
