Role Overview
The Regional Disaster Recovery Specialist, Assistant Vice President, will spearhead the design and implementation of OCBC Group’s Disaster Recovery (DR) program. This role ensures that robust frameworks are established and executed to restore critical business functions during a disaster, aligning with business expectations. The specialist will lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and policy enforcement to minimize risk to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive innovation in disaster recovery processes by identifying relevant industry trends, orchestration tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with various departments and the Operational Risk Management team to develop and maintain effective disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring automated recovery orchestration testing is successful.
- Manage disaster recovery initiatives, ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets through sound financial forecasting and resource management.
- Address audit observations and ensure compliance with the OCBC ITMP framework.
- Advise project teams on disaster recovery implementations consistent with bank policies and guidelines.
- Conduct post-disaster recovery test debriefs, document findings, and prepare management reports on test outcomes.
- Plan, develop, and sustain automation of disaster recovery processes adhering to industry standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 7 years’ experience delivering IT Disaster Recovery services within a regional IT hub supporting global operations.
- Strong familiarity with ITIL IT Service Continuity Management or similar frameworks, including DR Framework, Activation, Maintenance, and Reinstatement.
- Experience or knowledge in digitalizing and automating disaster recovery processes and workflows.
- Excellent organizational capabilities and project management skills.
- Strong analytical aptitude with acute attention to detail, able to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience executing live disaster recovery tests.
- Preferred certifications in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or related fields.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ practical experience with Enterprise Content Management systems.
- Good understanding of disaster recovery planning, business continuity principles, and risk assessment techniques with mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in developing and testing disaster recovery plans.
- Strong technical background in IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Effective collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams.
