Role Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will be based onsite in Abuja and work full time to support the planning, delivery, and oversight of construction and infrastructure projects. The position focuses on cost control, accurate measurement, financial tracking, and coordination with project stakeholders to keep work aligned with budgets, specifications, quality expectations, and safety requirements.

Key Duties

• Develop and check project cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender packages, and contract variation documents.
• Carry out site measurements and progress valuations to support accurate reporting and payment assessments.
• Monitor budgets and actual spend throughout the project lifecycle and prepare regular cost updates for managers and stakeholders.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to identify cost-efficient solutions and keep deliverables aligned with project requirements.
• Support risk reviews, value engineering efforts, and internal procedures that improve efficiency and sustainability in project execution.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong capability in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis for construction or infrastructure work.
• Hands-on experience with bills of quantities, tender preparation, contract administration, and handling variations and claims.
• Ability to perform site measurements, track project progress, and carry out valuations accurately.
• Comfort using quantity surveying and project management tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, and cost control software, with a data-focused working style.
• Good communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Professional certification or membership such as NIQS, or an equivalent body, will be an added advantage.
• Experience in infrastructure, telecommunications, or large construction projects in Nigeria is beneficial.
• Must be able to work onsite in Abuja, manage several assignments at once, and maintain strong ethical and professional standards.
