Position Overview
The Quality Officer at American Hospital Dubai spearheads the implementation and supervision of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan. This role involves collaborating closely with both administrative and clinical leaders to develop, monitor, and report on quality enhancement initiatives aimed at improving patient care and outcomes across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and tracking of the hospital's Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Program.
- Assist in designing data collection mechanisms for critical performance indicators and trend analysis.
- Contribute to evaluating the IT infrastructure necessary for comprehensive quality performance and reporting systems.
- Work alongside department heads to ensure strict compliance with data management requirements including collection, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT to devise hospital-wide data visualization and reporting formats.
- Guarantee timely collection and dissemination of progress reports while suggesting enhancements to data systems.
- Help oversee adherence to core measures, including those mandated by the Joint Commission International (JCI).
- Participate in formulating and monitoring hospital policies, clinical guidelines, protocols, and order sets.
- Develop and facilitate educational initiatives related to data analysis and quality improvement.
- Examine assigned domains for improvement opportunities and recommend process enhancements that elevate healthcare quality and effectiveness.
- Assist in managing performance improvement projects to meet defined milestones and KPIs efficiently.
- Document project outcomes and provide necessary reports as required.
- Coordinate with Quality team members to validate key data elements robustly.
- Represent the Quality Department in hospital committees in the absence of the Quality Manager.
- Serve as an internal advisor on regulatory compliance, process enhancement, performance tracking, and statistical evaluation, offering recommendations aligned with best practices and current standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or a relevant professional qualification is required; current licensure is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred, with completion expected within 6-12 months of hire.
- Minimum of three years’ clinical experience in an acute care international hospital setting.
- At least two years’ experience specializing in Quality Assurance or Performance Improvement.
- Proven knowledge of systems process analysis, quality/process enhancement methods, and integration across multiple organizational departments.
- Familiarity with health information data management principles, quality improvement methods, and accreditation standards.
- Competence in developing policies, standards, and procedures relevant to healthcare quality.
- Proficient in managing complex projects and initiatives, demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
- Ability to craft innovative solutions that meet organizational goals within clinical improvement environments.
- Strong strategic influence capabilities and the ability to engage effectively with clinical professionals.
