Quality Assurance Specialist Intern

About the Role

SOTI, a global leader in mobile and IoT management solutions, is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist Intern to join their team in Galway. Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and document test scenarios and cases aligned with software requirements for all SOTI products.
• Maintain and implement test coverage for web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate within Agile teams including QA Analysts, Developers, UX Designers, Product Managers, and Scrum Masters.
• Engage in sprint-based or phase testing execution.
• Track, analyze, and document bugs and user-reported issues.
• Prioritize and report on testing progress and test scenarios.
• Carry out exploratory testing during development to uncover potential issues.
• Offer innovative solutions to complex testing challenges and contribute towards QA process enhancements for standardized practices across product lines.
• Work cooperatively in quality-focused agile teams to refine SOTI’s products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to create effective test scenarios.
• Ability to troubleshoot, isolate issues, log defects, and collaborate for resolution.
• Proactive in identifying QA process improvements and delivering solutions.
• Contribution to test automation initiatives and exploring new tools to support automation.
• Support senior QA personnel in daily testing tasks and maintain test documentation.
• Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C#.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Currently enrolled as a student in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Test Manager, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Visual Studio, and Jira.
• Knowledge of security, performance, and system testing methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud technology platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Foundational knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP networking principles.
• Hands-on experience with C# and Playwright automation.
