Overview
GovCIO is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester for the BaseCamp program. In this role, you will lead QA activities including test planning, test documentation, review cycles, results tracking, and status reporting. The position also covers customer and resource coordination, self-service request handling, sustainment support, and cloud migration work. This is a fully remote role based in the United States.
What you will do
- Track SQA testing progress, provide support needed to complete testing, and ensure all results are captured and reported.
- Log issues, observations, and test incidents in status reports and the defect log.
- Partner with developers to design and run test strategies, test plans, and test cases from requirements.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, smoke, and end-to-end testing across web, API, cloud, and database layers.
- Create, improve, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks with Selenium WebDriver and Visual Studio tools.
- Perform API and web services validation using SOAPUI, Postman, and XML/JSON checks.
- Run accessibility testing aligned to Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 AA standards using JAWS.
- Execute backend verification activities in SQL Server.
- Support QA work in Azure cloud environments.
- Take part in CI/CD processes and version control workflows using GitHub and related DevOps tools.
- Conduct performance, load, and stress testing with tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setup.
- Maintain test documentation, defects, and traceability in ALM, JIRA, RTC, and Confluence.
- Support UAT planning, execution, and reporting, including incident and compliance documentation.
- Validate production releases and perform post-release quality checks.
- Ensure testing activities meet HIPAA, security, data governance, and accessibility requirements.
Required background
- Bachelor’s degree plus 15 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Visual Studio tools.
- Working knowledge of SOAPUI, Postman, and XML/JSON validation.
- Exposure to Agile methods and project management tools.
- Experience using JAWS, SQL Server, Azure, ALM, JIRA, RTC, and Confluence.
- Certifications in relevant technologies are preferred by the employer.

- Prior work with Selenium WebDriver.
- Ability to spot workflow inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements.

Compensation
The posted salary range is USD 160,000 to USD 185,000 per year.
