About the Role
Long O Donnell is seeking experienced sourcing, procurement, or supply chain officers with strong public procurement expertise to support a client located in Cork. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out requirement gathering exercises and formalize tender documentation and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external legal teams to ensure compliance and support procurement activities.
- Plan and allocate resources efficiently based on pipeline activities and organizational needs.
- Prepare tender documentation, including Invitations to Tender (IITT), contract notices, and contract award notices.
- Maintain thorough document control throughout procurement processes.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal terms.
- Perform post-sourcing event reviews, documenting lessons learned, and share with relevant teams including Category Management, contract management, and Supplier Relationship Management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working in public procurement is essential.
- Procurement-related qualifications are desirable.
- Proficient in Office 365 suite, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with electronic procurement (e-procurement) tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end procurement processes and strategic sourcing approaches.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier identification, tendering, evaluation, and selection.
- Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and challenging stakeholder requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry capabilities.
- Knowledgeable about contracting options, including managing terms and conditions administration.
