Overview

Handshake is seeking highly qualified Public Policy PhDs to contribute to AI research through flexible, hourly contract engagements. This role diverges from traditional public policy or academic positions. Instead, your expertise in public policy, governance, regulatory frameworks, and policy analysis will be crucial in assessing AI-generated content, offering detailed feedback, and enhancing AI comprehension of multifaceted policy topics, public institution functions, and evidence-driven decision processes.

This opportunity is designed as a continuing, project-dependent engagement suitable to be pursued alongside your main employment.

Who This Is For

• Postdoctoral researchers specializing in Public Policy or related disciplines.
• Note: This is not a conventional full-time position. Application is once, followed by consideration for part-time, project-specific assignments when opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Possession or pursuit of a PhD in Public Policy or a field closely related.
• Robust skills in analysis and research, particularly in assessing complex policy matters.
• Experience in policy analysis, research interpretation, and formulating evidence-based policy recommendations.
• Strong written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to work autonomously while adhering to detailed project protocols.

Work Authorization Information

F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for Handshake AI projects. Coordination with your Designated School Official is necessary to confirm eligibility. Projects requiring CPT courses may not be supported by Handshake AI. STEM OPT participants are not supported.
