About the Role and Working Conditions
This full-time Project Manager position is based at Sewell Group's regional locations across Yorkshire, including Bradford, Elland, and Hull. The working hours consist of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Remuneration is competitive and dependent on experience, with the added benefit of an annual bonus opportunity.
Role Overview
The Project Manager will oversee the successful execution and delivery of construction projects, ensuring client satisfaction while adhering to Sewell's policies, procedures, and their Construction Excellence culture. The PM will manage multiple projects regionally within Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative project delivery by coordinating with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and internal staff to operate as a unified team.
- Effectively allocate resources and clarify roles to facilitate efficient project execution.
- Regularly evaluate team performance, set clear goals, and identify training or development opportunities.
- Set expectations, promote high performance, and nurture positive relationships within the supply chain.
- Assist in producing and clearly communicating project expectations to all stakeholders.
- Maintain site presentation standards, ensuring cleanliness and order around site boundaries, roads, welfare, and office areas.
- Take leadership responsibility for health, safety, and wellbeing on projects, modeling desired behaviors and promoting a culture of safety.
- Promptly identify and report any quality issues, addressing them effectively.
- Minimize financial losses caused by waste, delays, or rework resulting from substandard installations.
- Ensure designs are delivered according to the design delivery plan, meet project briefs and maintenance requirements, comply with affordability constraints, and adhere to relevant laws and guidelines.
- Prevent violations of environmental regulations by reducing site disruption and mitigating adverse environmental effects.
Candidate Requirements

- Mandatory possession of a UK-valid full driving license.
- Qualification at HNC level or higher, along with a valid 5-day CITB SMSTS Certificate.
- Proven experience managing and controlling large-scale construction projects, including subcontractor coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with project programming and web-based document management tools.
- Positive and professional mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within close-knit teams.
- Excellent computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Commitment to delivering construction projects to a high standard.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with senior clients and subcontractors.
- Organizational expertise with the ability to prioritize diverse tasks effectively.
- Open to learning, development, and career progression.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Working knowledge of current health and safety practices.
Desirable:
- Experience working with both public and private sector clients.
- Possession or pursuit of professional qualifications relevant to the role.
- Experience or training in Building Information Modelling (BIM).
