About the Role and Team

We are seeking experienced Project Control Specialists to join our client's growing Infrastructure & Capital Projects team in their large Consulting practice based in Dublin, Ireland. This permanent full-time position involves managing all facets of Project Controls within the infrastructure sector, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, while meeting quality and governance standards. The role demands exceptional attention to detail, robust analytical skills, and the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The Infrastructure & Capital Projects team is part of the Transformation Delivery division of the Irish Consulting practice, serving sectors such as Energy, Utilities, Transport, Water, Gas, Telecoms, Housing, and Healthcare. Their goal is to be the Trusted Advisor throughout Procurement, Construction, and Operational Phases of major capital projects by leveraging deep industry experience, established partnerships, and global knowledge of infrastructure project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with infrastructure clients across sectors to develop innovative insights and solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Design and implement Project Control processes covering Scope, Schedule, Cost, and Quality management effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors, and other relevant stakeholders to set project baselines and track progress against metrics.
  • Create and manage detailed Project Schedules inclusive of Critical Path Analysis and resource management to optimize timelines and identify risks or opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on Project Costs, track budget variances, and support decision-making with timely financial analysis.
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and manage project risks.
  • Lead or assist in regular progress meetings and deliver updates to stakeholders on status, milestones, and performance indicators.
  • Leverage Project Management systems and tools to improve Project Control processes and project transparency.
  • Coach and mentor junior Project Controls team members fostering continuous learning and development.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Project Proposals, Bids, and Cost Estimates by providing accurate controls data and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project best practices.

Internal Duties

  • Support client account management including resource planning, financial oversight, and quality and risk governance.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to aid business growth.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership and contribute to building and motivating high-performance teams.
  • Acquire deep understanding of service offerings and proactively seek opportunities to add client value.
  • Participate in team development through coaching, mentoring, performance management, recruitment, retention, training, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Adhere to and promote workplace policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational background: A third-level degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Project Controls or Project Management in the Infrastructure sector, with proven involvement in large-scale programmes.
  • Preferred experience includes consulting or similar client-facing roles.
  • Multidisciplinary expertise spanning Project Management, Engineering Feasibility, and Design phases.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience managing complex programmes.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive, delivery-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in Infrastructure Development and Construction.
  • Additional certifications such as PRINCE2® or PMP are advantageous.
