Role Overview
The Production Planner will be accountable for planning and scheduling materials and production so the required resources are available to meet planned demand.
Key Duties
- Coordinate and improve production planning and scheduling across several sites and production lines.
- Create site schedules and production plans based on forecasted demand.
- Estimate future material needs to keep production running smoothly.
- Work to maximize capacity and reduce downtime.
- Align supply planning so materials are available when needed.
- Make sure materials reach production lines on time.
- Manage the transfer and return of finished goods to distribution centers.
- Support customs clearance and shipping activities.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure stock records remain accurate.
- Be available to attend essential training, team meetings, customer events, or trade shows outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in planning or scheduling within manufacturing, preferably in dairy, FMCG, or a similar industry.
- Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills with careful attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- A proactive, results-focused approach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and sound commercial judgment.
Location
This role is based in Pokeno, Waikato District, New Zealand.
