Product Development Associate - Handbags

Role overview

SBH Fashion is hiring a Product Development Associate focused on handbags. This full-time onsite position in New York, NY centers on supporting the end-to-end development of handbag styles, from bill of materials creation through sample follow-up and vendor coordination.

What you will do

• Build bills of materials for handbag styles, covering every component used in the product.
• Revise BOMs whenever styles are updated, including changes discussed during buy meetings.
• Assist with style revisions and maintain accurate BOM updates throughout development.
• Track proto samples, showroom samples, and revised samples to keep development moving.
• Review and send out technical packages to overseas suppliers.
• Coordinate with vendors and the design team so sample execution stays aligned with expectations.
• Check incoming development samples against the tech packs together with the internal product development team.
• Create artwork CADs and tech packs when needed; this is considered a strong advantage but is not mandatory.
• Keep timelines and major development milestones on track.
• Maintain SKU setup and ongoing SKU records.
• Work on alternative style solutions and support counter-development when required.
• Partner closely with production teams to help ensure deadlines are achieved.

Compensation

The offered salary range is $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
