Product Developer - Jewelry

About the Role

PAVOI, a rapidly expanding brand in the jewelry and activewear sectors, is seeking a dedicated Product Developer to lead the entire jewelry product development process. This position is for a proactive individual ready to take full ownership, working closely with contract designers and production teams to drive collections from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete product development timeline for all jewelry lines, including briefs, sample rounds, approvals, and milestone tracking.
• Supervise and guide 1-3 contract designers seasonally to ensure creative output aligns with brand standards, commercial goals, and deadlines.
• Independently perform initial costing assessments and maintain margin goals, negotiating with vendors effectively.
• Make autonomous decisions to approve, modify, or reject samples during review without requiring leadership intervention for routine matters.
• Act as the main liaison for daily coordination between internal departments and external production contacts.
• Proactively identify challenges and present proposed solutions with each escalation rather than mere updates.
• Create and uphold precise product briefs and schedules that integrate margin objectives and business outcomes for every collection.
• Enhance and develop the contract designer collaboration framework, including briefing templates, feedback methods, and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Between 5 to 8 years of experience in jewelry product development, buying, or merchandising, preferably within direct-to-consumer or marketplace-focused companies.
• Hands-on experience managing contract or freelance designers.
• Strong design comprehension with the ability to analyze sketches, amend tech packs, and critique design details such as proportions and finishes.
• Expertise in costing, understanding landed costs and gross margins, coupled with experience negotiating with jewelry manufacturers.
• Proven record of managing product development schedules end-to-end, ensuring milestones are met from initial concepts through mass production.
• Commercially driven perspective assessing products through sales potential and margin impact alongside aesthetics.
• Clear, focused communication adaptable to vendors, designers, or senior management.
• Confidence in making swift, well-documented decisions independently on daily operations.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with PLM systems such as BeProduct.
• Experience with online marketplaces like Amazon or TikTok Shop.
• Managing product lines across various pricing tiers, from entry-level to premium.
• Building designer management processes from the ground up, including briefing and feedback systems as well as contractual frameworks.

Compensation & Benefits

PAVOI is dedicated to equitable pay practices. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000 annually, adjusted based on individual credentials, experience, certifications, and location. Additional benefits include a performance-based annual bonus and other perks which may vary by country.
