Procurement Officer

Job Overview

This role is focused on supporting the Purchase Manager and Supply Chain functions to enhance procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control within the organization. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring contractual compliance, managing supplier performance, and coordinating procurement activities to meet company objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Purchase Manager in implementing improvement initiatives to optimize procurement systems and workflows.
• Support the validation and establishment of contractual agreements with vendors ensuring compliance with commercial and legal standards.
• Oversee day-to-day supplier performance to guarantee adherence to service, cost, delivery, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager on managing inventory control, including preparing and analyzing inventory and slow-moving/obsolete stock reports.
• Contribute to alternative sourcing strategies and foster productive supplier relationships.
• Ensure material schedulers raise purchase orders promptly and in coordination with the planning team to develop procurement plans.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Serve as a key user of the DAX ERP module, maintaining data integrity within the procurement system.
• Support the Purchase Manager in addressing quality and commercial complaints with suppliers, as well as managing reverse logistics for returns due to defects or damages.
• Source critical raw and packing materials to aid developmental projects as required.
• Coordinate with HSE and Industrial Relations teams to obtain necessary approvals for procurement and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Provide oversight and guidance to local material schedulers at multiple factory sites to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Manage timely procurement and purchase order issuance for factory-to-consumer related purchases.
