Job description
Position Overview
DL Custom is seeking a full-time Press Brake Operator experienced in metal product fabrication to join our sheet metal shop in Concord, Ontario. This permanent role requires proficiency in metalworking and machinery operation within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and lubricate machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate metalworking machinery such as brakes, drills, and punch presses to cut, bend, roll, ream, drill, weld, and shape metal stock into required products or parts.
- Document completed work accurately for production tracking.
- Set up and manage one or more light or heavy metalworking machines.
Metal Forming and Shaping Skills
- Perform bending, coining, cutting, drawing, flattening, forming, twisting, piercing, punching, splitting, straightening, and upsetting operations to metal materials.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Operate efficiently amidst fast-paced and physically demanding conditions.
- Ability to handle and lift weights ranging from 9 kg (20 lbs) up to and exceeding 45 kg (100 lbs).
- Execute repetitive tasks while maintaining close attention to detail.
Tools and Safety Gear
- Use personal protective equipment including ear plugs, gloves, hard hat, safety masks, safety glasses or goggles, steel-toed boots, and any other required safety devices.
Eligibility and Qualifications
- Must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Possess 3 to less than 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent expertise in metal fabrication.
- Own a vehicle and hold a valid driver's license for transportation needs.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, organizational ability, flexibility, sound judgement, and capability to work collaboratively in team environments.
Work Shifts and Conditions
- Standard 40-hour work week with potential shifts during early morning, morning, evening, night, weekends, and overtime if required.
