Role Overview
The Planning Executive will collaborate closely with the business to develop and sustain demand forecasts over short, medium, and long terms across various product categories and channels. Key responsibilities include analyzing historical sales data, market tendencies, seasonal impacts, promotions, and other external variables influencing demand.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead monthly forecasting cycles and demand review meetings.
- Track forecast accuracy, bias, and other critical demand planning indicators.
- Transform commercial activities such as promotions, launches, and pricing updates into anticipated demand effects.
- Communicate potential risks, opportunities, and supply limitations to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain forecasting models, dashboards, and planning reports.
- Investigate variances between forecasts, shipments, and actual sales performance.
- Deliver actionable insights on category performance, share of market trends, and industry dynamics.
Reporting Structure and Collaboration
This role reports directly to the Planning Manager and works closely with internal teams including Commercial (Trade, Online/Offline Deployment), Supply Chain Operations, and Commercial Finance. Externally, interaction includes area information reporting teams and the demand forecast centre of excellence.
Experience and Skills
- 4 to 6 years of experience in global FMCG or similarly dynamic business environments.
- Demonstrated ability in handling stakeholder management across geographic regions.
- In-depth knowledge of FMCG processes within large organizations.
- Proficiency in statistical forecasting, demand modeling, and managing baseline and promotional forecasts emphasizing accuracy and bias control.
- Expertise in advanced Excel, PowerBI, statistical modeling, and experience with APO/BPC systems.
- Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, strategic analysis, and planning skills.
- Ability to distill complex scenarios and present insights clearly.
- Proactive, insightful, adaptable to ambiguity, collaborative and consultative in approach.
Qualifications
A degree supplemented by professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or MBA is required.
