Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated full-time Picker/Receiver at our Mississauga, Ontario facility. The role entails accurately selecting parts for assemblers and orders, as well as receiving inbound materials. Ensuring materials are ready and available to facilitate seamless production and order processing is crucial, aligning with quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Precisely pick and prepare parts following work orders and inventory lists, confirming correct quantities and items.
- Organize materials ahead of production to maintain continuous assembly operations.
- Interpret work orders, pick lists, and inventory data effectively to fulfill tasks.
- Sort and arrange components and assemblies corresponding to sales orders.
- Receive, unload, and document incoming shipments, ensuring proper storage.
- Conduct basic visual inspections of parts, communicating concerns to quality control.
- Handle materials carefully to avoid damage or loss.
- Assist in shipping processes, including shipment preparation and customs documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse environment.
- Comply strictly with safety protocols and actively promote a secure workplace.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety issues, or process inefficiencies promptly.
- Manage disposal of skids, recyclable materials, and waste appropriately.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Forklift operation competency is mandatory.
- Physical capability to lift weights up to 70 pounds.
- Strong time management, self-organization, and a diligent work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with focus on quality control.
- Familiarity with using common industrial shop tools.
- Urgency and commitment to excellent customer service.
- Skillful in managing various priorities simultaneously.
Education and Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and customs paperwork is beneficial.
- Exposure to warehouse management systems and ERP platforms is a plus.
- Background in the manufacturing industry preferred.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience required.
Work Conditions and Schedule
- Role may involve prolonged periods of standing.
- Standard schedule includes 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, with occasional overtime.
- Position based in Mississauga, ON L5T 1X5; applicants must reliably commute or relocate before starting.
