Role Overview

As a Physiotherapist at Humber River Health, you will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team focused on aiding patients to regain optimal physical mobility and function across both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves assessing, treating, and managing patients in fast-paced acute and post-acute care environments, including cross-coverage across multiple hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and deliver evidence-based physical therapy treatments to patients in medical, surgical, and specialty units within acute and post-acute care settings.
• Provide cross-coverage physiotherapy services ensuring appropriate evaluation and interventions for diverse patient groups.
• Effectively prioritize and handle patient caseloads to align with clinical demands and organizational objectives.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress notes, and discharge planning in accordance with professional standards.
• Record workload metrics punctually and accurately.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Remain adaptable in managing caseloads and undertaking program assignments to meet departmental needs.
• Efficiently manage patient treatment within the dynamic environment of acute and post-acute care.
• Provide supervision to Rehabilitation Assistants following Ontario College of Physiotherapists’ guidelines.
• Participate in clinical teaching and mentorship of Physiotherapy students.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
• Current and good standing registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
• Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (C.P.A).
• Previous experience in physiotherapy is advantageous, with preferred exposure to acute care environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to function effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Consistent positive attendance record and discipline-free employment history.
• Availability to work rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays, especially for casual appointments.
• Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as applicable to healthcare practices is highly regarded.

Additional Information

This is a temporary part-time role with duration through July 2027. The primary work location is the Wilson Site, with occasional coverage at Finch and Church Reactivation Care Centres. Hours involve rotating shifts covering weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays. The hourly pay range is $40.36 to $56.30. The position reports to the Manager of Allied Health and is categorized under the OPSEU 590 employee group.
