Phlebotomist - Home Collection Specialist

About the Role

This position is for a Home Collection Phlebotomist operating in various locations within Mumbai, Maharashtra. The role falls under Field Operations and Collection Operations departments and focuses on sample collection and rapid testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from customers or patients using venipuncture or finger-sticks following aseptic techniques and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure specimen integrity by accurate labeling and correct matching of blood samples to patients.
• Identify patients by verifying their identity documents before sample collection.
• Prepare specimens appropriately for transport, ensuring proper packaging and tagging as per medical requisitions.
• Maintain detailed records including patient names, blood volumes drawn, and diagnostic results.
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment necessary for blood collection and testing.
• Administer rapid tests when needed and analyze blood samples using proper testing tools.
• Provide excellent patient service by answering queries, offering information, and enhancing patient relationship with the medical facility.
• Adhere to biomedical waste management protocols.
• Willingness to travel for home collections is essential.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational qualification: Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT/MLT).
• 1 to 10 years of relevant experience in phlebotomy, sample collection, and laboratory testing.
• Familiarity with testing protocols and operating relevant testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Possession of a valid driving license and mandatory 2-wheeler for travel.

Additional Details

• Compensation: Up to ₹360,000 per annum plus ₹3.5 per kilometer travel allowance.
• Working hours: Rotational shifts from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
