Job Overview
Carelee Health Technologies Inc. is seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide compassionate care for clients across the Greater Toronto Area, including locations such as Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, and Richmond Hill. Assignment placements depend on client demand and worker availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care activities like bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene, mobility, transfers, and feeding.
- Adapt to a flexible schedule including both weekdays and weekends based on the needs of each case.
- Prepare or reheat simple meals and handle light housekeeping duties.
- Provide medication reminders and aid with basic medication organization as directed by the healthcare team or families.
- Encourage client participation through conversation, walks, appointments, and recreational activities according to the care plan.
- Consistently document care activities and communicate promptly any notable changes in client condition.
- Deliver specialized care when necessary such as dementia care, palliative support, end-of-life assistance, post-surgical or post-injury recovery help, disability support, 24-hour care rotations, and double-staffed shifts.
- Always promote client dignity, independence, and comfort during all interactions.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, family members, and the Carelee team.
- Utilize mobility aids and equipment safely following training protocols.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, infection control measures, and emergency procedures.
- Uphold confidentiality and professional conduct standards established by Carelee.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker program in Ontario or registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Functional proficiency in English for documentation and client interaction.
- Physical ability to perform personal care, mobility support, and household task assistance.
- Ability to travel within service areas via public transit or personal vehicle.
- Possession of a smartphone with data capability for scheduling, documenting care, and shift check-in/out via mobile app.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and commitment to assigned work schedules.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada, including a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Preferred but Not Mandatory
- Driver's license and access to a vehicle for assignments where public transit is limited.
- Experience caring for clients with dementia, palliative needs, or complex medical conditions.
- Background in home care, community care, or long-term care environments.
- Compliance with immunization requirements where necessary.
- Additional training such as GPA, U First, or dementia-related workshops.
