Position Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada, you serve a vital function in fostering a warm and positive shopping environment. Your role centers around exceptional customer service and aiding the sales floor to enhance customer trust and loyalty. Greeting every visitor with friendliness and assistance reflects Walmart’s core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer welcoming, quick, and professional assistance to all customers entering and leaving the store, setting a positive tone for their experience.
• Support safety and prevent loss by tagging returned items, monitoring large purchases like electronics, verifying receipts when necessary, reporting suspicious actions to management, and following Code ADAM protocols.
• Respond courteously to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms, identify issues with deactivation, maintain accurate logs, and report system malfunctions to management.
• Help customers with shopping needs such as providing carts, baskets, and flyers, answering queries, and coordinating with sales associates to locate products and services.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free area in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Exhibit flexibility by being available for shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high workload volumes efficiently in the fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, by planning to sustain energy and focus.
• Perform physical activities including standing for long periods, bending, lifting inventory or equipment up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive tasks such as stocking and organizing products with diligence to maintain store standards.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
