Job Overview
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing monthly payroll processing while ensuring compliance with tax and social security regulations. Your role includes maintaining personnel master data, handling employment changes, and providing consultation to employees, management, and external parties on payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly payroll accounting adhering to tax and social security legislation
- Maintain and update employee master data, including processing hires, terminations, and contract modifications
- Provide support and advice to employees, managers, and external agencies on payroll-related inquiries
- Manage reporting and certification procedures
- Communicate with health insurance companies, social security agencies, authorities, and tax offices
- Handle special topics such as garnishments, company pension schemes, and extra payments
- Prepare reports, statistics, and certifications
- Assist in audits and participate in annual financial closing processes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and digitalization of payroll workflows
Qualifications
- Completed commercial training with further qualification in payroll accounting or equivalent credentials
- Several years of professional experience in payroll, preferably in a tariff-bound company and with various employment types
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax, social security law, labor and tariff law, reporting, garnishment, and insolvency regulations
- Experience with complex payroll scenarios and payroll systems such as PAISY
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Excellent command of German; good English skills are advantageous
- Structured, precise, and confidential working style
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
