Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team at our Head Office located in LE67 6HS. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a hybrid working model, working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for approximately 2,000 UK-based employees, collaborating within a team of three specialists.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll reporting, maintaining adherence to all corporate policies, governance, and control procedures.
  • Provide payroll-related guidance and support to employees via telephone and email, delivering outstanding customer service aligned with agreed service levels.
  • Manage administration tasks for employee onboarding, departures, salary modifications, and permanent data updates.
  • Handle the processing and adjustments of wages, deductions, and payroll taxes.
  • Execute electronic payments to employees through BACS and payments to HMRC and other third-party vendors.
  • Enter payroll overrides and salary adjustments accurately.
  • Conduct tax month-end and year-end processing, including general ledger reconciliations with Finance Business Partners.
  • Coordinate the Start of Year update testing and approval alongside the HR Systems Lead.
  • Administer payrolling of all non-cash benefits, taxing them at source.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulatory changes affecting payroll operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of CIPP qualification or an equivalent credential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end payroll processes.
  • Proven knowledge of UK payroll and HR legislation with the ability to provide relevant advice.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing payroll environments, including the setup and operation of streamlined processes.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Familiarity with Zellis/Resourcelink software is desirable but not mandatory.
