Role Overview
Ajenda, a health and wellness brand founded by Dr. Jen Ashton, is seeking a skilled freelance video editor to contribute to its expanding content across social media and video platforms. This part-time position offers 5-10 hours weekly and involves editing a range of video materials for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and produce a variety of video content including long-form podcasts and YouTube episodes, alongside short, vertical social media clips such as Reels, TikToks, and Shorts.
- Utilize provided scripts, raw footage, and brand guidelines to create polished, narrative-driven video edits.
- Focus on vertical video editing with strong hooks within the first three seconds, including adding on-screen captions and ensuring framing suits 9:16 aspect ratios.
- Integrate captions, lower thirds, graphic elements, and basic motion animations as necessary.
- Perform color correction and audio mixing to achieve professional-level quality.
- Convert long-form content into multiple platform-tailored vertical cuts.
- Incorporate editorial feedback efficiently, managing up to two rounds of revisions collaboratively.
- Maintain brand consistency in fonts, colors, and intro/outro styling across all outputs.
- Prepare and deliver final video files conforming to each platform's technical specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of professional experience in video editing, preferably in health, wellness, lifestyle, or educational content fields.
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, capable of producing clean, branded motion graphics such as lower thirds, animated captions, transitions, and callouts.
- Strong pacing and storytelling abilities tailored to both long-format and social media video styles.
- Familiarity with platform-specific requirements for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, including aspect ratios and caption styles.
- Adaptable to feedback, comfortable with evolving project demands, and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with verbatim scripts and structured raw footage.
- Excellent communication skills and prompt turnaround on editing tasks.
- Keen attention to precise and credible visual storytelling appropriate for health-related content.
Preferred Experience
- Background in editing medical, wellness, or expert-informative content.
- Portfolio showcasing both short-form social media edits and longer YouTube videos.
Compensation
The role offers an hourly rate ranging from $40 to $45, with a weekly time commitment of up to 10 hours.
