The position of Community Parking Champion focuses on upholding service, responsibility, and fairness as you work to keep fire routes unobstructed, protect resident parking, and support community safety and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct foot, bike, or vehicle patrols on private parking premises.
- Verify that parking adheres to posted rules and permits.
- Maintain a professional and visible presence within the community.
- Identify and document parking violations, issuing Notices of Parking Violation as necessary.
- Use handheld technology to record enforcement activities and parking conditions.
- Ensure fire routes remain clear for emergency access.
- Protect designated accessible parking spaces for individuals relying on them.
- Monitor parking areas for safety hazards and concerns.
- Engage residents, visitors, and property staff to address questions and explain parking policies clearly.
- Resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Report incidents, hazards, and other concerns to ParkNET Dispatch.
Qualities and Qualifications
- A strong sense of professionalism representing Park O Lot Inc.'s values.
- Impartiality and consistent application of parking regulations.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure in challenging interactions.
- Attention to detail to maintain effective parking compliance systems.
- A community-oriented perspective, understanding the broader benefits of enforcement.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence is preferred for roles involving mobile patrols.
- Capacity to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity or comfort with mobile technology and enforcement software.
- Physical ability to walk and patrol for long durations.
- Previous experience in security, by-law enforcement, parking enforcement, or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.
