About the role
Fluor is looking for a mechanical engineer who has worked on the design and application engineering of packaged and rotating equipment. The work spans major industrial sectors including Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, and Manufacturing areas such as batteries and pharma. What you will do
- Prepare mechanical data sheets and material requisitions.
- Carry out technical bid evaluations, handle technical clarifications, and prepare bid summaries and recommendations.
- Create and issue purchase requisitions.
- Examine vendor drawings and technical documents during detailed engineering.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Take part in design review sessions, PIMs, HAZOPs, and model reviews.
- Track package-level changes and support change-control activities.
- Assist with inspection and testing work.
- Join expediting visits, shop inspections, and performance test runs.
What we are looking for
You should hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and bring 5 to 20 years of experience in design and detailed engineering. The role calls for strong technical, analytical, and communication abilities, along with comfort working in multicultural, global project teams across different time zones.
Equipment and standards exposure
Hands-on experience with packaged and rotating equipment is important, including pumps (centrifugal, rotary, and positive displacement), compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating, and screw), fans, blowers, and a wide range of mechanical packages such as instrument air systems, chemical injection units, cooling towers, water treatment systems, chillers, filters, incinerators, boilers, desuperheaters, static mixers, and agitators. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards like API, ASME, ANSI, and similar standards is expected.
