Role Overview
The Oracle MICROS Simphony Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the Point of Sale (POS) system used across multiple departments including food & beverage, front desk, and overall lodge management. This position demands ensuring continuous system availability and smooth POS operations.
Key Duties
- Administer and configure the Oracle MICROS Simphony enterprise management platform specifically for Lake Duluti Lodge.
- Manage user accounts, control access permissions, handle menu configurations, pricing schemes, discount rules, and set tax parameters.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities including software updates, data backups, and system audits to ensure peak performance and minimize downtime.
- Offer ongoing technical support and conduct training sessions for operational teams in front-of-house, kitchen, and administrative roles.
- Collaborate with Oracle Support and third-party vendors for system upgrades, integration implementations, and resolving complex technical issues.
- Prepare and analyze detailed sales, revenue, and inventory reports to inform managerial decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring, administering, and supporting Oracle MICROS Simphony POS systems in luxury lodges, hotels, or resorts.
- Comprehensive understanding of POS system architecture, including hardware interfacing, database management, and integration with PMS/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to train and support staff with varying technical backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic high-end hospitality environment.
